Which Halloween creature do you most associate with blood? Vampires. Is your Halloween cocktail red? Think blood. If you want to spend any amount of time here, I'd make sure to take a ride share. We recommend starting with the colour of the cocktail in question. It seemed like the next-door neighbors in the strip mall were frustrated with Lei Low patrons taking all the parking. When I went, we had to park a few blocks away and then walk. If you're ever in the Houston area, I really liked the vibe of Lei Low. It's next door to a Starbucks Reserve Roastery, which is a totally different kind of experience (the wiskey coffee cold brew was amazing). I had the Inside Passage, the Ballard Fog Cutter, and the One-Eyed Willy, and I enjoyed each of them. Decent food, fantastic aesthetic, really creative with the drinks. From what I understand, they just opened a second location in Gilbert, so that may be a good alternative.Ī really great find in Seattle is Inside Passage. It's a real experience, and if you get an early reservation, you can enjoy the lights and soundtrack a lot more than later. I'm in Phoenix a lot for work, and I always make it a priority to book a reservation. San Francisco and Boston are off the list for me - I'm there every year :) But most of my New Orleans friends are saying now is not a great time to be a tourist in the city New Orleans Latitude 29 seems like it'd be incredible. And also, I'm not a huge fan of Florida at the moment It seems one of the few places that has direct lineage all the way back to the birth of Tiki and still does most of their recipes in the original style, not modern guestimates or reverse engineers. Seemed more of a party atmosphere and would be hard to just fade into the back and enjoy the atmosphereįlorida - The Mai-Kai is on my bucket list. Been there once but it was so full it was standing room only. But, I've been there beforeĬhicago - Three Dots. Portland, Oregon - Hale Pele is maybe my favorite tiki bar ever, I love the atmosphere and how many unique drinks are on the list. Seattle - plenty of new tiki joints since the last time I was there What would you do? (bonus points for easy transport from the airport to the cocktail bar downtown area) I'm also a sucker for places that have direct lineage to the original Tiki bars. I love atmospheric Tiki bars where you can kinda fade into the background and enjoy the vibe. I could fly into Chicago, head over to Three Dots and a Dash for a night, back to the hotel with pizza in hand, fly home.īut there are so many options. Why not use the points for a short round trip flight and one hotel night. I have expiring flight points I need to use - I don't have enough time or money to spend multiple nights at a hotel but I thought well, why not at least consider something silly. What is that glass?
